All you do is get cheap folders (don't need pronged ones) and make a cover copy. Then put the copies for students to use on the inside of the folder! I used clear packing tape for a faux lamination for the cover so it holds up better.
Make sure you keep a copy from the folder for your personal use. There is nothing worse than trying to find the original copy of something! You could talk to the class and leave a note in the folder for the students to leave the last copy so that you can make more copies easily. I got my folders at the dollar store, 6/$1. Let me start out by saying that The Sasquatch Escape was a lot of fun to read. It is a part of The Imaginary Veterinary Series by Suzanne Selfors. I found this book because it is on the Oregon Battle of the Books list for this year.
The premise of this book is about a young boy named Ben who goes to live with his grandpa. He starts noticing some strange things about this town. One day he comes to find out that there is a veterinary hospital in town for "imaginary" creatures who turn out to not be so imaginary. That is when the Sasquatch escapes and Ben is the one who has to help get him back to the veterinarian. Does Ben succeed? You gotta read to find out. This book is written very well and keeps you turning the pages. It is also pretty funny which makes it even more enjoyable to read. I just bought the second book in the Imaginary Veterinary Series and am excited to see what Ben will be up to this time. Suzanne Selfors's website has her other books listed, as well as teacher guides, which I love to find! Here is her website: http://www.suzanneselfors.com/index_flash.php There are also activity guides which would be great for any student at home trying to study for OBOB. Thanks for reading! Tessa Hi! Welcome to my page!
My name is Tessa and I am creating a weebly to keep in contact with my class, post teaching ideas, and get to know more people in the teaching blogging community. I am excited as a first year teacher to start school. I have been waiting to be a teacher since third grade and I still cannot believe I have made it here. I am a book worm. This summer I cannot even count the number of books I have read. The book I am reviewing today is: The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate.
